Youth Ministry/ Da Lounge
New Hope’s youth ministry seeks to transform young people into committed followers of Christ and to create a safe place for fellowship so that that they may grow in their spirituality, leadership, and compassion.
In response to God’s love, we seek to provide a safe and healthy environment for young people:
¨ That they may THRIVE physically, emotionally, mentally, socially, and spiritually, as followers of Christ
¨ That they may DEVELOP as mature, responsible leaders, becoming self-aware and growing in their gifts and skills
¨ That they may SERVE and give to their communities, being life-long builders of a just and compassionate multi-cultural society
Friday Night Youth Group
 High school students meet on Friday nights. The fellowship time is a unique mixture of good food, games, music, hanging out, and humor. This safe environment enables youth to share their lives with each other, pray for each other, and learn more about Jesus. Youth are invited to relax, feel safe, be themselves, and have fun.
Location: meets at the back upstairs apartment of the church building (2626 E. 16th St. , Oakland, CA 94601)
Schedule: Meets every Friday night from 6:00pm-9:00 pm
Youth Events
First Fridays: The first Friday of the month is a night of fun fellowship. Activities range from scavenger hunts to paintball. This is to welcome new youth from the neighborhood to meet us and hear what we are doing.
LA Christian Hip Hop Conference: A sister urban church in Los Angeles will host a conference in June 2008to invite youth around the country to experience the gospel through hip hop.
Missions Trip: One of our goals is for young people to broaden their perspective by experiencing life overseas and to engage in short-term mission work and give them opportunities to reach out in Jesus’ name.
