Cells in New Hope

Cells are a primary place for community, connection and growth in New Hope. The New Testament depicts Christianity as a vibrant community characterized by shared life. Believers met together in homes, broke bread, and had everything in common. Cells are a place of building community, so that people in the church are known and cared for. Cells are also a place to grow through taking discipleship seriously and being challenged. The Apostle Paul suggests that the church is like a body that grows as each member uses his or her gifts to build it up. In the intimate setting of cells, we seek to create ways for church members to challenge and build one another up.

Ephesians 4:11-12
It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up.

As a cell church, we believe that we can best encounter Jesus through the intimacy of small groups. Cells are the primary place of membership and belonging in the church. Each cell has a unique identity that springs from the diverse backgrounds, experiences and gifts of its members. Cells are where members reflect on scripture, pray together, and provide support and encouragement to one another. It’s also a place where leaders develop and members grow in all the spiritual gifts. We encourage cell members to invite their family and friends to join.  Our hope is that as cells grow in number that there are new members ready to lead, cells can multiply.
